Work on school buildings completes in Khost
KHOSTCITY(PAN): Work on two buildings for schools has been completed in southeastern Khost province, a senior official said on Thursday.
The projects were implemented in Ismailkhel district, with each structure having 12 classrooms and the capacity to accommodate 1,000 students, the governor Abdul Jabar Naeemi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A joint venture of the government and some non-governmental organisations, the buildings cost eight million afghanis ($176,134), he said.
More than 20 new school buildings would be constructed across the province next solar year, the governor said.
There are 242 schools operational in Khost, where 166,000 students, including 40,000 girls, are studying.
