ISAF condemns Kunduz bombing
A suicide bomber struck the vehicle of the provincial police chief near Kunduz City late Thursday night, killing Brig. Gen. Syedkheli and three others. Nine policemen were wounded in the attack.
"The insurgents’ assassination and wounding of ANP officers was not only aimed at these brave men who swore an oath to protect their countrymen, but also to terrorise innocent civilians," the NATO-led force said.
The militants continued to show disregard for the lives of their fellow Afghans, said Rear Admiral Vic Beck, ISAF Director of Public Affairs.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were wounded and killed and we extend our condolences to their families and friends. We will continue to work closely with Afghan partners to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
