Would-be suicide bomber killed by own explosives
MAIDAN SHAHR (PAN): A would-be suicide attacker was killed by his own explosives in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Saturday.
The incident took place near Chak Dam late on Friday, the governor's spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The bomber was receiving militant training from his senior when the explosives went off, he said. No one else was wounded in the blast, he said.
"Eight fighters were training the rebel, who died as a result of the explosion," said the district chief, Ismail Wafa. The guerrillas fled the area soon after the incident.
