Ghazni City comes under rocket attack
GHAZNI CITY(PAN): As many as four rockets landed on the provincial capital of southern Ghazni province on Monday morning, residents in the area said.
However, the provincial police chief, Col. Zarawar Zahid, said that a single artillery shell landed in a barren area of the city, causing no casualties.
Police detained four people including a motorcyclist in Imam Hadad area of the city in connection with the incident, he said.
Four rockets landed in different parts of the city, a resident, Ahmad Zia, said.
He urged the Taliban not to fire rockets at the city, because many civilians lived there. He also asked from officials to prevent such attacks.
Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that their target was government department offices. They fired five rockets on the city, which landed near government departments, but there was no report of any casualties, he said.
