Karzai, US denounce Kunduz bombing
Another 40 people were injured when the suicide bomber blew himself up near Spin Zar area in the 1st police district of Kunduz City, the provincial capital.
A statement issued from Karzai's office said people who wanted to join Afghan forces to serve their country were targeted in the "vicious" attack. The dead included four children.
"It is an unpardonable act by Afghanistan's enemies who don't want to see Afghan forces strengthened," Karzai was quoted as saying in the statement. He said such cowardly attacks would not deter the youth courage from joining security forces.
