2 killed in ISAF airstrike in Kunar
An investigation team had been sent to the Sawakai district, the scene of the Monday night air raid, to identify the dead, police chief, Brig. Gen. Khalilullah Ziayee, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
However, a local council member, Kamil, said the victims were two teenage boys who were watering their crops at the time of the attack. The two had a flashlight which was seen by the plane, he added.
The media office of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Kabul confirmed the incident, saying two militants planting roadside bombs were killed. In a statement, ISAF said there were no civilian causalities.
