Pakistan cancels US-Afghan talks
KABUL (PAN): Pakistan on Friday said it will not attend the next round of talks with the United States and Afghanistan in protest over an American missile attack in the country's militant-infested northwest.
Local official say around 36 people died in Thursday’s strike in North Waziristan near the border with Afghanistan.
Pakistan will not attend the trilateral talks proposed by the United States for Brussels on March 26, a statement issued by the foreign ministry said.
The cancellation comes amid rising tensions already high over the case of an American CIA contractor between Islamabad and Washington. The contractor shot and killed two Pakistanis but was freed this week.
