Woman-made handicrafts on show in Kabul
"Women display different kinds of handicrafts and food items including honey, different jam, pickles, and dry fruit such as walnut, pistachio, almond, raisins, sea-buckthorns and apricots at the show," the Afghan Businesswomen Federation head, Khanam Gul Jan Zamari, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
She said the purpose was to find market for handicrafts made by Afghan women in a bid to resolve their economic problems. "Such shows for Afghan products should be arranged outside the country," she said.
Different kinds of hand-made cloths were displayed at the exhibition, a member of the federation, Kamila Anwari, said, adding most of the products were bought by foreign visitors. "Such exhibitions help in selling and finding market for handicraft products, "she said
The government should arrange such exhibitions in provinces and outside the country to encourage women involved in manufacturing local products, she said.
