PUL-I-KHUMRI (PANinfo-icon): Seven Talibaninfo-icon fighters were killed in a clash with NATOinfo-icon-led forces in Baraka district of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Sunday.

The clash erupted in Flol Bala village on Saturday night, the district chief, Sangi Mohammad, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Mohammad Zaki, a tribal elder in the area, said: “Airplanes hovered over the area during the midnight firefight.”

Foreign forces attacked a guest house belonging to the Taliban, killing several militants and setting ablaze the building, the resident said.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, confirmed the death of their seven fighters in the clash. But he claimed the fighters killed five foreign troops and injured several others, a claim dismissed by local security officials.
