Escaped rebel leader back in Farah jail: police
The commander identified as Arif who had been on the run is back in jail, police chief, Brig. Gen. Sayed Mohammad Roshandil, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Arif was arrested with a weapon from a house in Khurmaliq village of Farah city, the police chief said. Companions of the rebel leader fled after a brief clash with raiding forces, leaving Arif alone, Roshandil said.
The commander had been sentenced to 18 years in prison on the charges of kidnapping and insurgency.
