ISAF soldier killed in south
The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said the soldier was killed in a roadside bomb, the favoured weapon of the Taliban, on Sunday. ISAF did not reveal the nationality of the soldier, nor where exactly in southern Afghanistan the incident happened, in line with its policy.
Since the beginning of 2011, 92 coalition soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan.
On Saturday, two coalition service members were killed in the south following a shooting incident with a security guard. And in eastern Afghanistan, an IED attack killed another service member.
Last year was the deadliest for the international alliance, with 711 soldiers killed, according to the icasualties website.
