Blast kills alleged suicide attacker in Uruzgan
TIRINKOT (PAN): A suspected suicide bomber was killed when a bomb rigged to the bike he was riding went off prematurely in the central province of Uruzgan on Tuesday, an official said.
"The attacker wanted to enter the district headquarters, but his explosive went off before he could reach the building," the Dehrawod district chief, Khalifa Sadat, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The blast took place 70 metres from the vehicle of the district police chief, who was patrolling in Lundyana village, his deputy, Omar Khan, said. The suicide attacker was a resident of the district, he said.
