Militants kill Afghan soldier in Wardak
MAIDAN SHAHR (PAN): Armed militants abducted an Afghan army soldier from his house in central Maidan Wardak province on Tuesday and killed him, an official said.
The soldier lived in the Shash Gaw area of Syedabad district, the administrative head of the town, Fazal Karim Muslim, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He did not name the solider, but said he had just arrived home on leave from Herat province.
Separately, a Taliban fighter was killed and another was injured and detained by foreign troops during a clash in the same district on Monday night, according to Muslim. The clash erupted when a group of fighters attacked foreign forces' convoy. The international troops were unhurt, he added.
But a Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said a military vehicle of foreign troops was blown up in the district, killing four soldiers on board.
