Mar 24, 2011 - 17:12

GHAZNICITY(PANinfo-icon): Seven Talibaninfo-icon fighters were killed in clashes with security forces in southern Ghazni and central Logar province, officials said on Thursday.

Four militants were killed after they attacked a joint convoy of Afghan and international troops in Andar district of Ghazni on Thursday, the district chief, Sher Khan Yosufzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, however, claimed the fighters killed two foreign soldiers and injured as many others in the Andar assault.

He also said a fighter was injured and a civilian was killed by foreign forces.

Meanwhile, militants attacked a patrol of ISAFinfo-icon forces in Charkh district of Logar, police chief, Brig. Gen. Ghulam Mustafa Muhsini, said. Three attackers were killed in the ensuing clash, he said, adding ISAF forces suffered no causalities.

Mujahid confirmed the death of their two fighters in the clash, but claimed five soldiers were also killed.
