2 civilians injured in Baghlan crossfire
PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAN): Two civilians caught in the crossfire between Taliban fighters and NATO-led forces were shot and injured in Doshi district of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Saturday.
The clash happened in Tanga Surakh area on Friday night after a group of insurgents attacked a patrol of International Security Assistance Force servicemembers, the district chief, Mamur Mohammad Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News. Only the two bystanders were injured in the two-hour long gun-battle, Khan said.
However, a Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed the fighters killed five Afghan security personnel and injured another four by hitting their two vehicles.
