Gunmen kill 2 civilians in Kandahar
KANDAHARCITY (PAN): Unidentified gunmen killed two civilians in two separate incidents in southern Kandahar province on Saturday, officials said.
In the first incident that took place in Kandahar city; a car dealer was shot dead in the limits of fourth police district in the morning, the governor's spokesman, Zalmay Ayubi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Ayubi said the killed civilian had a car bargain in the city. But the provincial council chief, Ahmad Wali Karzai, said the man rented out his two vehicles to foreign soldiers
In the second incident of violence that happened in Daman district, unknown gunmen shot and killed the son of a water regulator, according to Ayubi. No one had been arrested in connection with the killings.
In neighbouring Helmand, 10 Taliban fighters were arrested with weapons during a security operation, police chief, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Hakim Angar, said.
The operation that lasted three days was carried out in Nawa, Nahr-i-Saraj and Nad Ali districts, Angar said, accusing the detainees of their involvement in militant activities.
