KABULinfo-icon(PANinfo-icon): Police are capable to maintain security for central Kabul province and the capital, an official said on Saturday.

"Both in quantity and quality, the police in Kabul are in a position to maintain better security across the province," Gen. Mohammad Zahir, the 101st Asmayee Police Zone crime branch chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

In an exclusive interview, he said except Sarobi district, they had no problems in maintaining security. In some parts of the district, he said, they needed latest technology and equipment from foreign forces.

"I can assure residents of Kabul that we can maintain their security," the general said, praising Kabul police for a vital role in security of the province over the past two years. There are 14,000 police personnel in the province, he said.
