Taliban kill 3 men loyal to ex-jihadi leader in Badghis
The incident happened Friday evening in Khwaja Sorkh Yam area of Jawand district, deputy police chief, Ghulam Nabi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Three armed men loyal to Ziauddin, a former jihadi leader, who had announced support to the government, were killed and another was injured in the gun attack carried out by gunmen loyal to a Taliban commander, Abdul Hadi, he said.
"Ziauddin has announced support to the government four months ago and his men are maintaining security for district along with security personnel," district chief, Mirza Ali, said. The two commanders had an old enmity, he said, adding tribal elders had been sent to the area to resolve the problem.
