ANSA announces its new strategic plan
KABUL(PAN): Afghanistan National Standards Authority (ANSA) on Wednesday announced its five-year strategic plan aimed at designing and introducing more national standards for foods and other trading goods, an official said.
The plan from ANSA comes at a time when poor quality imported goods are found in markets across the country.
"The previous strategic plan was about developing and supporting good quality products in Afghan markets," Popalzai Popal, director of ANSA, told a gathering of traders in Kabul.
The gathering was also attended by second vice president Mohammad Karim Khalili.
Popalzai said Afghanistan's exports were too fewer compared imports as a result of the three decades of war and low capacity of officials. He said ANSA's role in economic sustainability and growth was crucial.
Khalili hoped the plan would help increase exports and ensure good quality products are imported to the country.
