Foreign forces detain 7 people in Logar
PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Foreign forces detained 7 people during an operation in the central province of Logar, officials said on Wednesday.
International troops arrested five people on Tuesday night during an operation in Deh Naw area of Mohammad Agha district, crime branch chief, Col. Mohammad Jan Abid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Foreign forces, meanwhile, detained another two other people in Shah Mazar area of Baraki Barak district, he said.
The operations had been launched without consulting Afghan security, he said, adding that the detainees were not known to the government.
The International Security Assistance Force, however, said they detained several militants during a joint operation in the Mohammad Agha and Baraki Barak districts of Logar province.
Most of the areas were cleared of Taliban insurgents, the statement said.
