Tonnes of oil were lost to the fire that erupted west of Herat city, the provincial capital, in the afternoon, police spokesman, Col. Noor Khan Nekzad, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The head of an oil traders association, Najibullah Yousafzai, said the fire broke out in the depot situated on the Herat-Islamab Qala highway at about 2pm.
