Another ISAF soldier killed in east
KABUL (PAN): An international soldier was killed in a roadside bombing in eastern Afghanistan, the military alliance said on Monday.
The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldier died on Sunday following an improvised explosive device attack in the east, a brief statement issued by the coalition in Kabul, said.
In line with its policy, ISAF does not reveal the nationality of fallen soldiers, nor the exact location of incident. Mostly US soldiers are stationed to fight insurgents in eastern Afghanistan.
Syedabad district chief Fazal Karim Muslim told Pajhwok Afghan News that three foreign soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb blast in Joy Zarin area on Sunday, a claim dismissed by ISAF.
Since the beginning of 2011, 107 international troops, including 75 Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan. Last year, 711 foreign troops were killed.
