KABULinfo-icon: (PANinfo-icon): One civilian was killed and three others were wounded in two separate incidents of violence in eastern Kunar and northern Baghlan provinces, officials said on Tuesday.

Gunmen opened fire at a car en route to Asadabad, Kunar's capital, from Manogi district on Tuesday afternoon, leaving three occupants injured, the provincial counter-terrorism department head, Col. Abdul Matin, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the incident took place in the Malkanai area of Watapur district. The injured included the car's driver and two other men who are doctors by profession, the official said. The gunmen opened fire at the car after its driver did not stop when signaled by the attackers.

Elsewhere, one civilian was shot dead and another was wounded by unknown gunmen in northern Baghlan province on Tuesday, an official said.

The gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire two people, killing one of them and injuring another, Baghlan crime branch police chief, Mohammad Nasir, said.

A doctor at the provincial civil hospital, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the injured man was in a critical condition.
