Woman shoots husband, son in Nimroz
ZARANJ (PAN): A woman using a Kalashnikov shot dead her husband and son after they accused her of having "illicit relations" with two other men in southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Tuesday.
The incident happened in the forth police district of Zaranj city at midnight, police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Jabar Purdili, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The woman opened fire at the two after a verbal clash and she had been arrested with the gun, he said.
The two other men accused of illicit relations with the woman had escaped and police had launched a search to arrest them, Purdili said.
Noor Ali, a neighbor, also called the woman's character as bad, saying a number of unknown individuals visited her at her house.
Four months ago, the lover of a woman killed her husband in Zaranj city.
Nimroz woman affairs director, Amina Hakimi, said domestic violence has increased in the province due to poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and women's unrealistic expectations from their husbands.
