Balochistan police chief injured in suicide blast

QUETTA(PAN‘s southwestern Balochistan province was among more than a dozen people injured in a suicide blast on his residence on Thursday, an official said.

One policeman was killed and another 14, including Wazir Khan, the provincial police chief, were injured in the blast on the Gulistan Road in Quetta, Daud Junejo, the top city police officer, told reporters.

The bomber wanted to enter Khan’s residence, but security officials guarding the house stopped the attacker, who then detonated his explosives, he said.

The injured were taken to different Quetta hospitals, he said. Khan’s residence and some cars were damaged in the attack, Junejo said.
