Taliban shadow deputy Kapisa governor killed

MAHMOOD RAQI (PANinfo-icon): A Talibaninfo-icon-designated deputy governor for central Kapisa province has been killed in an airstrike by NATOinfo-icon-led forces, an official said on Friday.

The Taliban official was killed Thursday night in the Ghain area of Nijrab district, the district chief, Atta Mohammad Nazari, said.

Residents also confirmed that Mohammad Zahir, the Taliban shadow deputy Kapisa governor, had been killed in the overnight bombing.

"The airstrike targeted Zahir along with his fighters in a mountainous area," Mirwais, a resident said.

There was no word from ISAFinfo-icon and the Taliban about the airstrike.
