KABUL): At least three people were injured when a suicide bomber on foot targeted a convoy of Afghan army personnel in Kabul city on Saturday, officials said.

The blast took place in the Ahmad Shah Baba Mina area in the limits of the sixteenth police district at 4:30pm, crime branch police chief, Col. Mohammad Zahir, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The attacker was on foot and detonated explosives strapped to his body when the Afghan National Army (ANA) troops’ convoy arrived at the scene, he said

Citing initial reports, he said, three people have been wounded in the blast. But he did not explain whether the injured were ANA troops or civilians.

Naqibullah, who witnessed the incident, said the bomber attacked a coaster carrying ANA personnel in the area. Army and police had cordoned off the site of the blast, he added.
