MAHMOOD RAQI (PAN fighters were detained by international troops during a raid on a house in the central province of Kapisa, officials said on Monday.

The suspected insurgents were arrested from the house in Sandari village of Ala Sai district on Sunday evening, the district police chief, Col. Mangari Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News. The detainees included owner of the house, he said.

Resident Mohammad Anwar said that foreign forces had launched an operation in the area since last two days. The troops on Sunday detained three people, he said.

But NATO) in a statement said several militants were killed and many others were detained on Sunday after the troops came under attack from insurgents in Ala Sai district.

However, the statement did not provide figures for the dead and arrested militants.

Two days ago, four Taliban insurgents were killed and as many others injured during an operation in the district.
