Would-be bomber held, tonnes of explosives seized

KHOST CITY (PAN): Afghan forces arrested a would-be suicide bomber and seized a truck laden with tonnes of explosives in southeastern Khost province, officials said on Thursday.

The bomber was arrested in the Terazai area of the Alisher district on Thursday, a spokesman for the 203rd Thunder Military Corps, Col. Saat Gul Hotak, told Pajhwok Afghan News. A motorcycle and a pistol were recovered from the detainee.

Elsewhere, a truck loaded with 20 tonnes of explosives was seized by security personnel in the Khatawar area of Nadir Shahkot district on Wednesday night, said the Khost police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Hakim Ishaqzai. Three suspects were detained.
