Apr 17, 2011 - 11:15

KABULinfo-icon(PANinfo-icon): Three NATOinfo-icon-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) soldiers were killed in roadside bombings in southern Afghanistaninfo-icon, the alliance said on Sunday.

The servicemembers were killed in separate improvised explosive device (IED) strikes in the Talibaninfo-icon's southern heartland, the multinational force said in a brief statement.

In line with its policy, ISAF neither disclosed the fallen soldiers' nationalities nor the exact location of the explosions. Mostly American, Canadian and British soldiers are battling the insurgents in southern Afghanistan.

Since the beginning of 2011, 130 foreign soldiers have been killed in different parts of Afghanistan, where the NTO-led force lost 711 troops in 2010 -- the deadliest year for the foreign security personnel.
