PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): A joint Afghan-international security force on Monday seized four jerry canes full of explosives, mines and some remote-controlled devices during a search operation against militants in central Logar province, an official said.
Four suspects were detained in connection with the materials. The explosives were seized in the Bark-i-Barak district in the afternoon, police chief, Col. Ghulam Sakhi Roghlewanai, told Pajhwok Afghan News. The detainees were being interrogated by foreign troops, he said.
The district chief, Mohammad Rahim Ramin, confirmed that a joint military operation codenamed Saparlai (Spring) has been launched in the district two days ago. He said the operation, involving hundreds of Afghan and NATO-led troops, was successfully underway.
