HERAT CITY (PAN): Three people were killed and a fourth wounded during a clash between two illegal armed groups in the western province of Herat, a police official said.
Supporters of commanders Syed Mirza and Mullah Wazir traded fire in the Chasht Sharif district late on Wednesday, the western zone police spokesman said.
Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News three of Mirza’s men were killed and Wazir injured in the firefight. Several clashes have occurred between the rival groups over the past two months.
