Afghanistan pip Lahore in handball match
KABUL (PAN): The national handball squad outmaneuvered the Government College University (GCU) in a friendly thriller at the Oval Ground in Lahore, an official of the Afghanistan Handball Federation said on Thursday.
In a photo-finish, Afghanistan won the match, played under the patronage of the Pakistan Handball Federation, chief coach Mohammad Bashir told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Watched by their counterparts from Tajikistan, the Afghans pulled off a 29-28 win over their rivals, Bashir said. GCU Vice Chancellor Dr Ikram-ul-Haq, who awarded prizes to the teams, said friendly matches were useful in promoting peace.
