PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAN militants torched eight tankers carrying fuel for foreign forces in northern Baghlan province, a senior official said on Friday.
The insurgents attacked the oil tankers in the Piaz Qul area of Doshi district at midnight, Governor Munshi Abdul Majid told Pajhwok Afghan News.
As flames continued to rise from the vehicles until 7.30am, the Kabul Baghlan highway remained closed for traffic, he said. No one was killed in the incident.
The assailants managed to flee the scene before the arrival of the security personnel, the governor added.The tankers were on their way to Kabul from northern Kunduz province.
