SHARAN (PAN): Afghan and foreign forces have killed 14 suspected militants in the southeastern province of Paktika, an official said on Friday.

The suspects were killed during an overnight operation in the Shamalzai village of Yahyakhel district, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Mukhlis Afghan said the dead included two foreigners, but he did not reveal their nationalities. The combined force also seized two rockets, a machine gun, seven Kalashnikov rifles and six motorbikes.

Area resident, Gul Mohammad Katawazai, said he saw two dead bodies and six motorcycles at the scene on Friday morning.

Elsewhere in the province, Afghan security forces killed two fighters and recovered weapons in the Mihraban area of Tarwa district, the gubernatorial spokesman said.
