MAHMOOD RAQQI (PAN-led officials said.

“Coalition forces have recovered both crewmembers. The incident is currently under investigation,” the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a brief statement.

A local official said the helicopter crashed in the Dara Ashpi area of Alasai district early in the morning. US-led forces surrounded the site immediately after the incident, said the district chief, Mullah Mohammad.

“Coalition copters hovered over the area an hour after the crash. The damaged helicopter was set on fire,” said resident Mohammad Din.

Meanwhile, the Taliban fighters claimed responsibility for shooting down the chopper. All soldiers on board were killed, a militant spokesman said.
