Deeper probe into attack on ministry ordered
The National Security Council issued the orders after reviewing findings of the initial probe, presented by the defence minister and the intelligence chief.
A number of ministers and security officials presented their reports on the current security situation at the meeting, chaired by President Hamid Karzai.
Last Monday, a suicide bomber managed to enter the heavily-fortified building in the Afghan capital. Three people, including an officer, were killed and six others wounded in the ensuing shootout.
A ban on the sale of military uniforms in open markets across the country would be enforced, a statement from Karzai's office said.
Relevant officials were asked to take legal action against the shopkeepers, selling the uniforms in violation of the ban, the statement added.
