ISAF pilot dies in Kapisa chopper crash

KABUL) helicopter crashed in the Alasai district of central Kapisa province, the alliance said on Sunday.
As coalition forces arrived at the site, they came under fire from militants, the ISAF media office said. The forces returned fire with small arms and an air weapons team while working to evacuate the two crewmembers.
One of the pilots died at the scene from injuries received in the crash, followed by aircraft recovery operations and heavy fighting in the area.
“The cause of the crash is unknown and is under investigation,” the multinational force said. Soon after the incident, both the Gulbadin Hekmatyar-led Hezb-i-Islami claimed downing the chopper.
