Pajhwok celebrates 7th anniversary
On the occasion, work on a new building for the media outlet was also launched in the Rahman Mina neighbourhood. A media plaza will be constructed next to Pajhwok's office.
Maidan Wardak Governor Mohammad Haleem Fidayee, the Kabul police crime branch chief, Malalai Magazine founder Jamila Mujahid, journalists and writers attended the event.
At a simple but impressive ceremony marking the anniversary, Pajhwok Director Danish Karokhel spoke about the organisation's news coverage priorities and achievements during the past year.
"Working in a difficult environment, Pajhwok staffers have done their bit to highlight people's problems and file timely reports on a wide range of issues to help steer society in the right direction," he said.
With more than 100 workers in Kabul and Afghanistan's 34 provinces, Pajhwok has a rich photo archive, he said, adding a video section was recently launched to meet subscribers' demand and upgrade the overall service quality.
