Kidnapped civilian freed; captors arrested

AIBAK (PAN kidnappers and released a captive from their captivity in northern Samangan province, officials said on Tuesday.

Asadullah and Fida Mohammad were arrested in Dara-i-Sauf Payeen district, where they wanted to transfer their captive to unknown location, the Samangan intelligence chief, Gen. Mir Ali Baloch, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Mohammad Azam, 62, was released from his captors. A resident of Kushanda district in northern Balkh province, the man said he was kidnapped for ransom while taking food for shepherds in a mountain.
