Afghan cueists move ahead in Asian Snooker C’ship

KABUL): Two Afghan cueists outplayed their opponents in the 27th Asian Snooker Championship in the Indian City of Indore, an official said on Tuesday.

Raees Khan Senzai trounced his Bahraini rival Mohammad Ali Shaikh 4-0, scoring his fourth consecutive win and staying as Group C leader, the National Olympic Committee spokesman said. 

Mujibur Rehman Rahmani told Pajhwok Afghan News another Afghan player, Mohammad Saleh, overcame his Mongolian opponent Baldondoroj Patsukh 4-2

In their previous encounters, Rahmani said, the Afghan cueists upset their Pakistani, Indian, Iranian and Kuwaiti counterparts.

Two players, a coach and a referee are representing Afghanistan at the championship, featuring 41 cueists and 21 groups, according to the official.
