PAROON (PAN militants were killed and 10 others injured during a clash with border police in the eastern province of Nuristan, officials said on Saturday.
The eight-hour clash took place on Friday night in the Barg-i-Matal district, a spokesman for the first border police zone, Idrees Mohmand, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The bodies of two fighters were handed over to the Taliban through tribal elders, while the others, including foreigners, were left at the scene, he said.
Commander of the border police, Brig. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhel, said that the insurgents had suffered many casualties in the firefight.
The clash in Barg-i-Matal, bordering Pakistan‘s northwestern valley of Chitral, lasted two days, Nuristan Governor Jamaluddin Badr said.
