KHOST CITY(PAN): A district police chief and two of his colleagues were injured when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in southeastern Khost province on Saturday noon, an official said.

The blast ripped through the vehicle carrying the Sabari district police chief, Kaleem Khan, a security official told Pajhwok Afghan News on condition of anonymity.

Provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Hakim Ishaqzai, confirmed the blast, but he had no information about casualties.

Elsewhere, explosives and arms were seized by intelligence operatives in southern Helmand province, an official said on Saturday.

The weapons, including nine landmines, were recovered from a house in the Nahr-i-Saraj area of Shindak district, an intelligence official said.
