2 killed, 9 injured in Kandahar
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Two people were killed and nine others wounded in separate incidents of violence in different parts of southern Kandahar province, officials said on Sunday.
A man and his three sons were injured when an explosive device went off inside their house in the Maroof district on Sunday noon, the governor's spokesman said.
The device was part of metal scrap the family had collected for sale, Zalmay Ayubi said.
In Kandahar City, unidentified gunmen shot dead an Afghan army soldier at 10am on Sunday, the official said.
One policeman was killed and four others injured during infighting in Arghandab district, the district chief said.
A civilian was also injured in the crossfire, Shah Mohammad told Pajhwok Afghan News. The injured were taken to hospital, he said, adding the incident was being investigated.
