5 fuel tankers burnt in Khyber Agency
JALALABAD (PAN): Five fuel tankers, carrying supplies for NATO-led international troops stationed in Afghanistan, were torched in Pakistan's tribal region of Khyber Agency, an official said on Wednesday.
The oil tankers were burnt as a result of an explosion in one of the vehicles on the Pakistani side of the Torkham border crossing on Tuesday night, border police officer Mohammad Anwar told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Four tankers were gutted and two others damaged in the incident that caused no casualties, he said.
The tanker trucks were burnt at 11pm. The blaze was controlled by firefighters who reached the area soon after the blast, resident Rahimullah said.
Another oil tanker was set afire in the Ali Masjid area of Khyber on Tuesday. Five nearby houses were also damaged, he said.
