15 killed and wounded in Waziristan drone attack
ISLAMABAD (PAN): More than 15 people were killed and wounded when US drones fired a salvo of missiles into Pakistan's troubled tribal region of north Waziristan, residents and an official said on Friday.
"More than 15 people have been killed and wounded in the latest US drone attack," the government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News. He had no exact figures for casualties.
At least eight missiles were fired into the Datta Khel area, hitting a vehicle and a house, the official said, adding the drones hovered over the area for a long time after the attack. The dead included local and foreign militants, he said. But residents said the victims were local people.
Sadiq Wazir, a resident, said the attack took place after Friday prayers. He saw 10 dead bodies at the site of the incident, but said the toll could be high.
Fiaz Mehsud, another resident, said several missiles were fired at a religious school.
