GARDEZ (PAN): Five Afghan army soldiers were injured when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the southeastern province of Paktia on Thursday, officials said.
The explosion took place at 7am in Ghafoorkhel area of Gardez City, the governor’s spokesman, Rohullah Samoon, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Five soldiers aboard the vehicle were injured and the vehicle damaged, he said.
The injured Afghan National Army (ANA) personnel were taken to hospital, where doctors say they are in a stable condition, Samoon said.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said six soldiers were killed and seven others were injured in the blast.
