JALALABAD (PAN-led troops on the Jalalabad-Torkham highway, the key NATO supply route, in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Thursday.

Elsewhere, a roadside bomb ripped through a police vehicle in Ghanikhel district on Thursday, injuring a policeman, the district chief, Haji Zalmay, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The fuel tanker was attacked near the fourth farm neighborhood of capital Jalalabad in Batikot district, the district chief said. There were no casualties, he said.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for both the incidents, saying two trucks carrying supplies for NATO forces were torched and two policemen were killed in the blast in Gahnikhel.
