Forces kill 3 insurgents in Logar

PUL-I-ALAM (PAN insurgents and detained as many others during an operation in central Logar province on Saturday, police said.

The joint offensive was launched in the Bark-i-Barak district’s Pathkhab Roghni area against a militant group in the afternoon, police chief, Col. Ghulam Sakhi Roghlewanai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the troops attacked the insurgent group, killing three militants and detaining three others, including one in injured condition.

Two machineguns, as many Kalashnikovs, a rocket launcher, two walkies-talkies and two motorcycles were seized from the insurgents, the police chief said.

The district chief, Mohammad Rahim Amin, confirmed that three insurgents had been killed and another three detained in the operation. He accused the group of its involvement in terrorist activities in the district.

Two days ago, four suspected Taliban insurgents were killed when a bomb in their possession went off in the same district.
