The three teachers have been teaching religious subjects to students in a school in Sulimanzai village of Deh Yak district, district police chief, Faiz Mohammad Topan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said efforts were in place to secure the release of the abducted teachers with the help of tribal elders. However, he said they had so far found no clue to the whereabouts of the abductees.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said the three teachers had joined their movement and would fight foreign soldiers.
On Monday, a policeman was killed and a foreign soldier was injured in a bomb blast in the same area, officials said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence said eight Afghan soldiers were wounded when their vehicle overturned on the Kabul-Kandahar highway in southern Zabul province on Tuesday.
The wounded soldiers were taken to a nearby hospital and their condition is said to be stable, the ministry said in a statement.
